The Five Languages of Apology by Dr. Gary Chapman

I love the concept of the 5 love languages, and have enjoyed Gary Chapman's books in the past, but this one lasted too long. It was 288 pages, and could have easily been reduced by 60%. I'll share the most thought provoking part of the book, and save you 10 hours from reading the entire thing:

My husband and I both really enjoy reading. Together we have a collection of over 1,000 books in the living room, and about 8 more boxes in the garage.

I tease my husband by telling him I don't think he is really reading at all. He will pick up a book, read a couple pages, scribble some notes, and then not pick the book up again for a few days.

That drives me crazy.

When I start reading a book, it's like a race against the clock. Real life suddenly becomes a distraction that's keeping me from the next chapter. I don't read fiction...ever. If I wanted to waste time on a make believe story, I would watch a movie.
